Shoreham Wading River Community Programs Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk 2026
About the Event
On November 26, 2026, the Shoreham Wading River Community Programs presents the annual Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk, honoring the memory of beloved local coach Paul "Coach K" Koretzki. This family-friendly event is set to take place at Miller Avenue School in Shoreham, New York. Participants gather early on a crisp fall morning for an uplifting celebration of community spirit and fitness. The day's activities kick off with two running options: a 1-mile run for those aged 13 years and older beginning promptly at 8 AM, followed by a separate 1-mile race specifically designed for children under the age of 12 starting at 8:40 AM. Immediately after, at 9 AM sharp, runners of all ages take to the course for the main event – a scenic 5K run/walk. The route winds through picturesque neighborhoods and along tree-lined streets that are bathed in autumn hues, offering participants breathtaking views as they navigate around Miller Avenue School. The atmosphere is filled with enthusiasm and camaraderie as friends and families cheer on runners of all abilities. Race day also features a range of amenities for athletes, including guaranteed t-shirts to pre-registered participants by November 18, 2025 (sizes are not assured after this date). Whether you're an avid runner or prefer a leisurely walk, the event welcomes everyone with open arms. The race is rain or shine, ensuring that no matter what Mother Nature brings, runners can enjoy their day out in community spirit. Join us for a memorable morning of exercise and remembrance at the Shoreham Wading River Community Programs Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk – an event not to be missed by locals and visitors alike.
