Shonan Oiso Odawara Fishing Port and Odawara Castle Loop 70km Cycling Tour (湘南大磯小田原漁港と小田原城めぐり70kmポタリング)

Embark on a scenic 70.5-kilometer cycling journey through the picturesque landscapes of Kanagawa Prefecture, starting from Enoshima Island and heading west along R134 towards the coast. The route offers stunning views of the Pacific Ocean as you pedal past serene coastal roads in Fujisawa and Katase-Enzan. As you reach Oiso, take a moment to savor fresh fish at Early Morning Fish Market, where crispy fried mackerel and sumptuous seafood bowls await.
Continuing on to Mishima, cyclists will leave their bikes behind for the climb up to Odawara Castle, an imposing 15th-century fortress that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. The castle grounds are steeped in history, with remnants of the old Ashigara Prefecture office still visible. For those with room left in their stomachs, indulge in some local delicacies like Odawara burgers and kamaboko dogs.
The return journey retraces your steps along scenic coastal paths before finally circling back to Enoshima Island via flat roads that wind through charming seaside towns. With a cumulative elevation gain of only 200 meters, this course is ideal for riders looking to enjoy the scenery at a leisurely pace—aiming for speeds around 20-25 km/h.
This event promises not just an adventure in cycling but also a deep dive into the rich cultural tapestry and culinary delights that make Kanagawa such a unique destination.
