Shane O'Brien Memorial Cyclocross Race
About the event
Held on the verdant fields of Eddie and Mary O'Brien, the Shane O'Brien Memorial Cyclocross race is a tribute to the late cyclist who once dominated these grounds. The course retains its challenging mix from previous years—straights demanding raw power and technical bank sections that test agility. A slight uphill through sandy terrain adds an extra layer of difficulty.
The event kicks off with youth races for U6, U8, and U10 participants on a shorter circuit, followed by the more competitive full-lap events for older age groups and open categories. The day culminates in a fun race for Shane's friends before wrapping up with prize-giving ceremonies. Cyclists can enjoy practice sessions throughout the day to prepare for their races.
Registration opens at 9:00 AM on October 25, 2026, offering ample time to get acclimated to the course and atmosphere that honors Shane’s legacy of passion and excellence in cyclocross racing.
