Seven Sisters 25k

The Seven Sisters 25k is a grueling trail run that winds through some of Western North Carolina's most rugged terrain. Nestled within the Montreat Wilderness, this challenging course takes runners over multiple peaks and overlooks, including Lookout Rocks, Rocky Head, Graybeard, Rattlesnake Rocks, and the iconic Seven Sisters along the treacherous West Ridge Trail.
With a total elevation gain of approximately 4,000 feet, the route is steeped in scenic beauty that contrasts sharply with its formidable difficulty. The race covers roughly 25 kilometers (15 miles) through nearly 95% trail terrain, offering breathtaking views and testing your limits as you navigate rocky ridges and narrow paths.
Competitors must be prepared for a rigorous experience, carrying essential gear such as a rain shell, at least 20 ounces of water or hydration device, an emergency whistle, a cell phone, and an emergency blanket. The race includes aid stations located around the four-mile mark (with a cutoff time of 10:20 AM) and again near mile eight (cutoff at 11:40 AM).
Packet pickup is available Friday evening from Mountain Running Company in Black Mountain or on race morning, but participants are encouraged to pick up their packets early. The start/finish area requires a short walk from designated parking sites.
This event celebrates the spirit of trail running with top male and female finishers receiving handcrafted awards by local artists, while all competitors earn a memorable finisher's award upon completion. As April 17th approaches, runners should prepare for an unforgettable journey through North Carolina’s wild beauty.
