Semi-Marathon Chiclana

About the Event

Imagine running through the mythical footsteps of Hercules himself. The next edition of this half marathon takes place in Chiclana de la Frontera, nestled within the province of Cádiz, where ancient legends blend seamlessly with modern-day beauty.
In April, runners will embark on a picturesque journey that combines coastal splendor and serene natural landscapes. Starting at Sancti Petri harbor—a tranquil oasis bordered by the Atlantic Ocean—participants begin their 21-kilometer adventure alongside the stunning Sancti Petri Beach. As you run along this pristine stretch of sand, the ocean stretches out to your right, framed against a backdrop that includes the enigmatic Sancti Petri Castle perched atop its rocky perch.
The course continues through Chiclana’s luxury hotel-lined coast before transitioning onto La Barrosa Beach, renowned for its beauty and featured in the Michelin Green Guide. The flat terrain here offers ideal conditions to settle into your pace and push towards a personal best. April's mild weather, with dry air and just enough breeze, ensures comfort as you run.
At kilometer six, runners enter Novo Sancti Petri’s luxurious world, passing through the Real Novo Sancti Petri Golf Club designed by Severiano Ballesteros before venturing into the Bay of Cádiz Natural Park. Here, the Chiclana salt marshes offer a serene and calming environment to rejuvenate as you approach the final kilometers.
Beyond the race itself, Chiclana de la Frontera offers much more for visitors to explore. The city’s historic charm is evident in its white alleys and landmarks such as the San Juan Bautista Church, Santa Ana Hermitage, and Torre del Reloj. For those interested in culture and history, a visit to the Wine and Salt Museum right downtown provides an enriching experience.
If relaxation is your goal after the race, Novo Sancti’s Hammam offers one of Andalusia's largest thermal spas for unwinding. Alternatively, you can immerse yourself in Seville’s vibrant atmosphere just two hours away by car, where the annual fair promises flamenco dancing, traditional attire, and an array of delicious tapas.
Are your legs ready to feel the rhythm of a flamenco dancer as they move across this captivating course?
