Savannah River Marathon Returns for its Fifth Year on October 17, 2026 Join Augusta Run Club as they welcome runners to the fifth annual Savannah River Marathon. The race will take place at Sharon Jones Amphitheater in North Augusta, South Carolina, with staggered start times: a full marathon beginning at 7:30 a.m., followed by a half marathon starting at 7:45 a.m., and a 10K kicking off at 8:00 a.m. The event will accommodate up to 275 runners across all distances, with registration closing on October 17th or when the cap is reached. Participants who register by October 4th are guaranteed a commemorative t-shirt. Runners can look forward to scenic routes along North Augusta Greeneway and River Levy Trail in nearby Augusta, Georgia. The marathon course will consist of four laps around this picturesque path, while half-marathoners will complete two loops. Both courses cross the historic Savannah River for an unforgettable experience. The event offers chip timing with water stations every 2-3 miles to ensure runners stay hydrated throughout their journey. Cyclists and walkers are also welcome on these trails, creating a vibrant atmosphere of community support along the route. The Crowne Plaza Hotel, located near the start/finish line, provides convenient accommodations for out-of-town participants. Packet pickup will be held at Savannah River Brewing Company in Augusta on October 16th from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., giving runners a chance to collect their race materials before the big day. Awards will be presented to top finishers across various categories: overall male and female for each distance, plus age group winners (29 & under, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+) in the marathon and half-marathon events. No refunds will be issued after registration closes.
