On October 10, 2026, the Mill Village Trailhead at Augusta Canal will host The Turnaround Foundation's third annual Love Doesn't Hurt race. This poignant event is designed to raise awareness and funds for those affected by domestic violence and homelessness in Augusta, Georgia. Participants can choose from a one-mile walk or two running options: a 5k starting at 8:15 AM and a 10k beginning promptly at 8:00 AM. The race course winds through the scenic Mill Village Trailhead, offering runners and walkers alike an opportunity to experience Augusta's natural beauty while supporting a crucial cause. Proceeds from this event will go directly toward helping victims of domestic violence by providing essential services such as food, shelter, clothing, and other necessities in their time of need. The race honors Tamika Rouse’s mother, Sebrenia Russaw, who was also a victim of domestic violence, underscoring the importance of raising awareness about this often silent issue. Packet pickup is available at Fit 2 Run Augusta Mall on October 3 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and at Fleet Feet Augusta on October 9 from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM. On the day of the race, packets can be picked up between 7:00 AM and 7:45 AM. Registration fees are $20 for the one-mile walk, $25 for the 5k run, and $30 for the 10k run when purchased before October 9. Same-day registration is available but costs slightly more at $20 for the mile walk, $30 for the 5k, and $35 for the 10k. Awards will be presented to first-place winners in both the 5k and 10k races with gift cards as prizes. All participants receive a commemorative medal upon finishing their race segment.
