SAS ENDURANCE

The toughest SAS Test Week Route March. 64km over the highest peaks in South Wales.

Please note: NEW TICKET TYPES

Full Endurance Route: As per standard ticket. Full 64km SAS Route.

Endurance Half: Same start point as Full. Finish at Cray Reservoir approximatly 32km.

Guided Full: As per Standard SAS Route but led by the DS/MST in a group. No Navigation required.

Guided Half: As per Standard Half but led by the DS/MST in a group. No Navigation required.

Full SAS ENDURANCE route

Unless taking part in the GUIDED groups stated above then you must either take part in a Land Navigation weekend provided by TSFE, a one-to-one Navigation course by Jason Birch or show evidence of your experience via email to [email protected]    

 The route follows the very same marched by UKSF selection personnel on their final stage of Test Week on the aptitude phase of Selection. The Endurance march is by far the toughest challenge faced by UKSF candidates on this phase of the Selection course. Soldiers are carrying in excess of 55lb (excluding food, water & rifle) and have to navigate from checkpoint to checkpoint individually.

Our SF category emulates that of SF selection in weight and distance.

As a result it is recommended that you come prepared for this event by ensuring that you have an adequate level of fitness and that you are competent with a map and compass by attending the Navigational weekend or proof of your map reading capabillities.

 CUT OFF TIMES

There will be serveral cut off times that will be announced on the event brief. These will be designated CP's where you will have to reach in a required time set by the DS on the day. The times are very generous and are largely dependant on the weather and ground conditions on the day.

The event will start late on Friday night/Saturday morning at 0001hrs.
