Bib pickup takes place on Friday, 29 May 2026 at EVO (660 W 400 W, Salt Lake City) from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM. All runners are asked to make their best effort to pick up bibs during this window rather than on race morning.
Required kit includes but is not limited to a 2.5L hydration bladder and a headlamp. A full list will be provided in the race packet.
Prize purse totals $3,000 across the 50K and Half Marathon distances. For the 50K: 1st place earns $475, 2nd earns $325, and 3rd earns $200 for both women and men. For the Half Marathon: 1st place earns $225, 2nd earns $175, and 3rd earns $100 for both women and men. No prize purse is offered for the 50 Mile or 10K. Top 3 men and women at all distances receive podium recognition.
Discounts are available for military service members (active and veterans) using code "Military", first responders using code "FirstResponder", and teachers using code "Teacher". Proof must be brought to bib pickup.
The 50 Mile course is all new for 2026 with approximately 10,300 feet of gain. Pacers may join 50 Mile runners at the Bonneville Aid Station, which runners pass twice—at approximately mile 32 and again at mile 40. Pacers may join at either passing, with only one pacer allowed per runner.
The 50K course is a world-class big mountain race complete with everything an ultra runner would want, minus shade. The foothills serve as a brutal proving ground with a beautiful payoff.
The Half Marathon is a point-to-point race starting at Ensign Peak and finishing at BoSho trailhead. Runners are responsible for getting to the start line on their own—no shuttle is provided. The course features sweeping Wasatch and city views with 2,800 feet of climbing.
The 10K serves as both an incredible introduction to trail running and a stout test of endurance for seasoned runners, climbing 1,200 feet across the distance with beautiful views and a strong community atmosphere.
Non-pacing crew and spectators may visit runners at any aid station, but parking is not guaranteed near aid stations. Interested parties may need to walk a good distance on paved sidewalks or roads. Courtesy and respect for neighborhoods, the University of Utah campus, and the University Hospital are expected.
Refund policy: 50% refund on or before 1 March 2026, with no refunds or deferrals thereafter. No special exceptions will be made. However, 100% deferrals are offered due to pregnancy. For ADA reasonable accommodations, contact Jared at (310) 966-7417.
The Salt Lake Foothills Trail Races are organized in conjunction with Open Range Races. Results from 2023, 2024, and 2025 are available. Register by 24 May 2026 at 11:59 PM MT to secure your place on these brutal yet beautiful Wasatch foothill trails.
