Experience the thrill of urban cycling at its finest with the Crit Race, set to take place on November 7, 2026. This fast-paced and strategic race features riders competing on specially designed track bikes known as pisteurs. These bicycles are renowned for their fixed gear system, where pedaling directly controls the rear wheel's movement without any freewheeling capabilities.
The Crit Race unfolds along a compact city course that loops through streets or parks, offering an intimate setting where spectators and racers share a close connection. This unique layout allows fans to witness every twist of strategy and sprint as competitors navigate tight turns at high speeds.
With its origins in track racing disciplines like velodrome events, the pisteur bike's sleek design and minimalistic construction make it both reliable and visually striking on the urban landscape. The race promises a blend of intense competition and dynamic street-level excitement, drawing parallels to Formula 1 races but with an added element of accessibility for spectators.
Participants will face challenges around every corner as they battle through circuits that are meticulously chosen to showcase the agility and speed of these specialized bicycles. Braving the elements while pushing their limits, racers will navigate a course where each lap brings new opportunities and risks in this exhilarating display of urban cycling prowess.
The Crit Race is more than just a competition; it's an immersive experience that captures the essence of competitive spirit and community engagement within the vibrant heart of the city.
