Running with Sasquatch 5k

Running with Sasquatch is an annual trail race that combines scenic beauty, community spirit, and environmental stewardship along the North Chickamauga Creek. Hosted by Ivy Academy, this 5K run on April 3, 2027, offers runners a true off-road experience through rugged terrain filled with fallen trees, creek crossings, and uneven paths. The course winds around Pride Rock as its turnaround point, providing breathtaking views of the natural surroundings.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own water supply due to limited facilities along the trail. For those who prefer walking or hiking, the event also features a Wildflower Walk option during late February through early May when over 30 species of wildflowers bloom alongside the creek.
Registration includes options for runners and walkers as well as a Sleepy Sasquatch registration for those wishing to support Ivy Academy without participating in the race itself.
Awards are given to top male and female finishers, students under age 12, and Ivy Academy participants. Additionally, all racers who beat "Sasquatch" will receive custom shirts proclaiming their victory. Over $500 worth of giveaways await runners at a Recycled Race Number drop box after the race.
Proceeds from Running with Sasquatch directly fund athletic scholarships for Ivy Academy students, ensuring equal access to sports opportunities and supporting environmental education initiatives. The event also features an Annual Spring Plant Sale by the school's Horticulture Department, offering community members guidance on spring gardening adventures led by student experts.
