Run the Runway Enjoy a scenic run or walk on one of the airport's runways and explore the world of aviation, including up-close views of planes, trucks, special vehicles, and more! A 1K Kids Fun Run will kick off the race, followed by an out-and-back 5K walk or run. Wings of Texas is a local 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to making our community more accessible for people with disabilities. We were founded in 2014 as an adaptive running program by Rusty and Michelle Jones - parents of a child with disabilities who were concerned about the lack of inclusive opportunities for community engagement and socialization once their son aged out of the school system. Today, Wings of Texas has grown to include multiple adaptive sports programs (running, cycling, swimming, triathlons, and bowling) and a variety of community-oriented activities & training opportunities all aimed at demonstrating the basic idea that #inclusionmatters!
