Run The Runway - Corpus Christi

Embark on an unforgettable journey with the 2027 Run the Runway, presented by AEP Texas. This unique race offers participants the rare opportunity to run or walk along one of Corpus Christi International Airport's active runways, providing a thrilling and scenic experience unlike any other.
The event kicks off early Saturday morning with the Kids Fun Run at 7:45 AM, followed closely by the out-and-back 5K run starting at 8:00 AM. Participants can also choose to take part in a leisurely 2-mile walk along the same route as the runners, ensuring that there's an option for all fitness levels and ages.
Corpus Christi International Airport serves as both the venue and packet pickup location, situated at 1000 International Dr., Corpus Christi, TX. Race packets can be picked up on Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM or on Saturday morning between 6:30 AM and 8:00 AM.
The race not only offers a unique setting but also includes interactive elements for visitors of all ages. Participants will have the chance to explore various aspects of aviation, including up-close views of aircraft, vehicles used at the airport, and much more. This event is designed to be both competitive and educational, making it an ideal outing for families and friends.
Registration fees vary depending on when you sign up: $20 for the 1K Kids Fun Run or the 2-mile walk, and $30 for the 5K run (increasing to $40 after August 31st). T-shirt sizes and finisher medals are only guaranteed with early registration by that date.
Awards will be given out at the event, including age group awards in five-year increments as well as overall male/female and masters divisions for both the running events.
The Run the Runway is organized to support Wings of Texas, a local 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to making the Coastal Bend area more inclusive for people with disabilities through adaptive sports programs like running, cycling, swimming, triathlons, and bowling.
