On Sunday, October 3, 2026, JA of Newton County invites runners and walkers to participate in the Shawntal Stamper Memorial Walk/Run. This meaningful event honors the memory of the late founding member, Shawntal Stamper, by raising funds for a scholarship established in her name.
The race begins at 8:00 a.m., starting and finishing on West Broad Street directly in front of Decatur's courthouse. Participants will wind their way through the historic town before heading onto the scenic campus of East Central Community College. The route follows the walking track, offering runners and walkers an opportunity to enjoy the college’s natural beauty.
Race day packet pickup begins at 7:00 a.m., giving participants ample time to collect their materials and prepare for the event.
