Run For the Ages 10K Trail Chase

About the Event

The Run For the Ages 10K Trail Chase returns to Reading, Pennsylvania on June 28th, offering runners of all ages a unique challenge in Nolde Forest’s rugged yet runnable trails. This event is not just about crossing the finish line; it's an opportunity for everyone from seasoned trail runners to beginners to experience the thrill and camaraderie of a race designed with inclusivity in mind.
Nolde Forest, located on New Holland Road, sets the stage for this distinctive running adventure. The forest’s verdant trails wind through dense woodland, offering both scenic beauty and varied terrain that keeps participants engaged throughout their journey. As summer approaches, the light filters through the canopy of leaves overhead, casting dappled shadows across the path as runners navigate around trees and over roots. It's a place where you can feel every step connect with nature.
The Run For the Ages 10K Trail Chase is steeped in tradition and community spirit. Organized by the Pagoda Pacers Athletic Club for several years now, this event has become a cornerstone of local running culture. Past editions have seen diverse groups from families to friends competing on an equitable playing field thanks to the innovative age-graded start system. This year promises more of the same with top finishers earning awards crafted locally by Nolde Forest Pottery, adding another layer of significance and regional pride.
The course itself is a 10K loop through the heart of Nolde Forest, featuring hard-packed trails that are both challenging yet runnable. The route includes various elevation changes and scenic vistas, making it an engaging experience for participants at all levels. Water stations will be strategically placed to keep runners hydrated during their run.
On race day, expect temperatures around 22 degrees Celsius with the occasional breeze blowing through the forest canopy, providing a refreshing respite from potential humidity that usually sits around 65%. The trails are expected to remain dry and firm underfoot despite typical June rainfall amounts of about three millimeters. UV levels will be very high at an index of eight, so sunscreen is essential.

Fees are set at $35 per entry and include all necessary amenities such as water stops along the route and immediate finish results.
For those attending in person, bib pickup will be available on-site starting from 7 am sharp with participants needing to bring their confirmation email or receipt for verification purposes. The start location is located precisely at 2910 New Holland Rd where runners of all ages gather before setting off on a journey that respects the unique abilities and backgrounds of each competitor.
As the Run For the Ages 10K Trail Chase concludes, participants can look forward to an award ceremony starting promptly at 10 am. This event is more than just a race; it's about celebrating diversity in age and ability while fostering community spirit through shared athletic endeavor.
