Robin Hood 100

The Robin Hood 100 is an ultra-distance trail race that winds through the lush and historic landscapes of Nottinghamshire. Set for September 9, 2028, this fully marked course offers runners a journey into the heart of Sherwood Forest where they can trace the legendary footsteps of Robin Hood himself.
Starting at South Wheatley Village Hall in Retford, participants will traverse scenic trails that pass through charming lodges and historic villages. The route includes two laps around Sherwood Forest's most picturesque paths, offering stunning views of ancient oaks and serene woodlands. Runners will also explore the Chesterfield Canal towpath and Clumber Park, where they can admire sandstone villages and historical sites.
The course features a mix of flat terrain with occasional undulations but no major climbs, making it relatively fast-paced for an ultra-distance event. The route is well-marked and marshalled throughout, ensuring that runners need only rely on common sense to stay on track. Refreshments are provided at regular intervals along the way, including near the iconic Major Oak.
No GPS trackers will be used this year due to reliability issues in dense forest areas; instead, runner safety will be ensured through administrative aid station recordings. This race promises a unique blend of natural beauty and historical charm, perfect for trail runners seeking an immersive experience amidst England's rich heritage.
