Robert Rogerson 12.5k

On February 14, 2027, runners will gather for the Robert Rogerson 12.5k Race near Kirkintilloch, an annual challenge that has been part of local running culture since its inception in 2006. This race celebrates the enduring legacy of Robert Rogerson, who has dedicated over two decades to organizing and supporting the Kirkintilloch Olympians club.
The course winds through quiet country roads with some hilly sections that test runners' winter training efforts. Participants will start and finish outside Gartconner Primary School, where registration and number pick-up begin at 9:45 AM. The event is part of a new Festival of Running in Kirkintilloch, which also includes a half marathon and a charity fun run on the same day.
Entry fees are £13 for Scottish Athletics League (SAL) registered runners and £16 for others, with no entry allowed on race day. Runners will enjoy chip timing and receive mementos from the Festival of Running upon completion. Prizes in cash or vouchers will be awarded to top male and female finishers as well as age group winners.
Limited facilities are available at Gartconner Primary School, including portable toilets but no showers. The race is limited to 350 runners, ensuring a manageable yet competitive atmosphere for participants. Results will be posted on the club's website, Facebook page, and SAL/Power of 10 websites after the event.
Join this scenic and challenging course in honor of Robert Rogerson’s contributions to local running culture.
