About the Event

The Ring of Fire, part of the National Ultra Endurance (NUE) Series Marathon Schedule, is a challenging 50-mile mountain bike race set against the backdrop of Wanoga Snow Park near Bend, Oregon. Nestled just 15 minutes west of Mt. Bachelor, this event offers riders an exhilarating journey through some of the most scenic singletrack trails in the Pacific Northwest. For over a decade, Mudslinger Events has been responding to requests for a longer distance race to complement their popular High Cascades 100 held earlier in July.
The course winds its way through the Cascade Mountains and past several dormant volcanoes, drawing inspiration from the vast volcanic region encircling the Pacific Ocean Basin known as the Ring of Fire. Participants will experience a mix of rugged terrain and breathtaking vistas, making this race not just about endurance but also an appreciation for nature's raw beauty.
Safety is paramount at the event with mandatory helmet use on all bike sections, basic first aid available on-site, and ham radio support provided by ARES of Bend along the course. Riders should remain vigilant as roads and crossings are open to traffic and other trail users throughout the race day. For more information or inquiries, contact Mike Ripley from Mudslinger Events at 541-225-7946 or via email at [email protected].
Riders can expect a memorable late-season challenge that culminates in smiles and satisfaction as they cross the finish line.
