Rider Rattler 4-Miler & 8-Miler

Set against the scenic backdrop of Rider Park, the 2027 edition of the Rider Rattler promises an exhilarating trail experience with fresh course changes that add significant elevation. The shorter 4-mile route climbs over 800 feet, offering runners a challenging yet rewarding journey through varied terrain and lush landscapes. For those seeking more adventure, the longer 8-mile race scales up to 1,400 feet of elevation gain, providing an even greater test of endurance.
This year's event introduces special awards for top male and female finishers in both youth (ages 14 & under) and senior (60+) categories, alongside traditional prizes for the top three men and women across each distance. Participants can look forward to a hearty post-race meal and exclusive Rider Rattler swag upon completion.
Rider Park itself is a tribute to Thomas J. Rider's legacy of community service and outdoor recreation, offering runners not only challenging trails but also a sense of history and purpose. The park's commitment to public enjoyment makes it the perfect setting for this rain-or-shine event where no refunds or deferrals are offered, ensuring that every participant commits fully to the experience.
For those interested in extending their trail running journey beyond a single race day, entries into both distances count towards qualifying races within the Rocksylvania Trail Series. Visit patraildogs.com/rocksylvaniaseries for more information on series participation and year-end awards.
