Resurrection Run returns to Gretna, Nebraska on July 25th. The race offers a variety of distances including the 1.25 Mile Fun Walk, 3 Mile, 5 Mile, and Kids Run for participants aged twelve and under.
Race morning finds runners gathering in the picturesque setting of Gretna Park, located at 400 South Second Street, near downtown, with its historic homes and charming small-town atmosphere providing a scenic backdrop. The air will be crisp early on race day as temperatures hover around an average high of 29.6°C by midday but feel similar to the morning’s cooler conditions with a low of 19.9°C.
For over five years, Resurrection Run has been a staple in the community, supporting local charities and scholarships through its proceeds. This year marks its sixth edition with hundreds expected to participate, making it more than just a race; it's an event that brings together runners from all walks of life who share a common goal: moving forward.
The course venue is Gretna Park, known for its hard and dry surface which ensures safe running conditions. Participants will navigate through the park’s well-maintained trails, starting at the central gathering area near the playground, then weaving through lush green spaces to complete their chosen distance. The 5 Mile route offers a bit more challenge as it takes runners slightly away from downtown towards the north end of the park before looping back.
On race day, participants can expect conditions with an average temperature around 24.8°C and humidity levels at 73.6%, making for comfortable running weather despite occasional light showers that could bring rainfall up to 3.7mm. Registration for Resurrection Run is available at https://raceroster.com/events/2026/118284/resurrection-run, with fees ranging from $28.45 to $33.75 per participant. Registrations after July 10th are not guaranteed a shirt and will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis.
Bibs can be picked up at the event packet pickup on Friday, July 24th between 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM or day-of-race. Participants must bring their printed confirmation email for verification.
