Drewby Dash

The Drewby Dash returns to Papillion, Nebraska on July 18th, 2026. The event will take runners through the scenic streets of this charming town, starting at Papillion City Park and winding its way along Westport Pkwy towards Downtown Papillion.
Race morning finds a crisp temperature around 24 degrees Celsius under a clear sky. Participants can expect hard and dry conditions on the course with a UV index indicating very high levels of sun exposure; sunscreen is advised for all runners, especially those planning to stay out during the longer race periods. The atmosphere will be lively as participants take in the sights along Westport Pkwy, lined with local businesses and community landmarks.
For its 7th year running, this event has become a beloved tradition among Papillion residents and visitors alike. With over 500 participants expected to join us once again, the Drewby Dash raises funds for the Papillion Public Library Scholarship Fund, ensuring that future generations of Papillonia can access books and knowledge.
The course venue features a flat terrain with a hard and dry surface ideal for all runners. The race layout includes two main distances: the 5K run and the Fun Run. Both courses share a common starting point at Papillion City Park but diverge slightly before reuniting back in Downtown Papillion, where the finish line will be located.
On race day, expect light winds averaging around 10 kilometers per hour with humidity levels of about 73%. The temperature range during this time is expected to remain comfortable between a minimum of 19.9 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 29.7 degrees Celsius, making for pleasant running conditions. However, the UV index at its very high level means that runners should be prepared with appropriate sun protection.
The race offers both a traditional 5K run and a Fun Run distance; all will enjoy the vibrant atmosphere and supportive community along the way. Additionally, those who cannot make it to Papillion on race day can still participate via our Virtual Runner option from anywhere in the world!

On race morning, runners are required to pick up their bibs from the Courtyard by Marriott located at 12560 Westport Pkwy in La Vista, Nebraska before heading over to Papillion City Park for your start time. A valid photo ID and proof of age will be needed if you're under 18.
