Red Eft 5.5 Miler

Experience the rugged beauty of Flag Rock Recreation Area on July 24, 2027, with the High Knob Destination Center Race. This challenging out-and-back course takes runners through winding roads and scenic overlooks, offering breathtaking views at every turn. The race starts promptly at 9 a.m., and participants will encounter sharp curves and blind intersections as they ascend to Flag Rock Recreation Area. Runners must remain visible and cautious throughout the ascent due to vehicular traffic sharing the open road.
Aid stations are strategically placed along the route, providing water at approximately mile markers 1.9, 2.75, and 3.4 miles. Finishers will receive a race shirt and bib upon registration or on race day, which must be displayed clearly as runners cross the finish line to ensure accurate timing. Race day registration is available from 7:30-8:45 a.m., with packet pick-up at High Knob Destination Center.
The event culminates in awards for top male and female overall winners, along with masters categories (age 40+), presented as runners cross the finish line. All participants will receive a finisher award upon completion of the race by the time limit of 11:30 a.m.
Immerse yourself in the spirit of competition and camaraderie at this unforgettable event, where nature's beauty serves as your backdrop for an invigorating run through Virginia’s stunning countryside.
