Recover From The Holidays is an annual ultramarathon that caps off the running season on December 31, 2026. This budget-friendly 50Km run starts at dawn and challenges even seasoned runners with its hilly terrain and strict 9-hour cutoff time. Runners will complete ten loops of a roughly 3.1-mile course through rolling cross-country grass trails, each featuring two significant hill climbs. The race retains nostalgic elements from the original Huntsville Track Club event, including the iconic "Race Hill." Participants can set up their own personal aid stations every loop with chairs and tables for comfort during breaks. The limited but hearty aid includes water, soda, chips, and cookies to keep runners fueled throughout the day. Those who finish within the 4:00 PM deadline will receive a Santa-sanctioned hoodie as a memento of their achievement. The top male and female overall winners are awarded prizes personally selected by none other than Santa Claus himself. Packets can be picked up at the venue starting from 6 AM on race day, allowing runners to arrive early and prepare for this challenging yet rewarding event that celebrates community spirit in the heart of winter.
