Pune Junior Marathon

Welcome to the Pune Junior Marathon 2026, an inspiring running event tailored specifically for young athletes aged 4 to 16. This special day is designed not only as a race but also as a platform that encourages fitness, builds confidence and discipline, promotes sportsmanship, and ignites a lifelong passion for athletics.
Scheduled for Sunday, December 20, 2026, the event takes place at Savitribai Phule Pune University in Pune. Organized by ASHVA Sports & Fitness, this marathon offers four distinct race categories based on age:
- 4 to 7 Years: A fun and manageable 1KM course.
- 8 to 10 Years: An engaging 2KM distance that challenges young runners.
- 11 to 13 Years: Participants take part in a longer, more demanding 3KM race.
- 14 to 16 Years: The oldest category features a competitive 5KM run.
Each participant will receive an official event t-shirt and finisher medal. In addition, all runners are provided with certificates of participation or completion, ensuring they leave the venue feeling proud of their achievement. Other inclusions include race bibs, goodie bags filled with various items, hydration support along the route, healthy breakfast options upon arrival, and refreshments to keep everyone energized.
The event is carefully managed by a team dedicated to creating a safe, energetic, and motivating environment for young runners. Professional photography captures memorable moments throughout the day, while awards are given out to recognize outstanding performances.
A portion of the proceeds from this marathon will be directed towards supporting sports development initiatives in tribal and underprivileged communities. These funds aim to provide essential equipment, training, coaching support, access to sporting activities, and opportunities for young athletes who might otherwise lack such resources.
Parents or legal guardians must ensure their children are registered correctly according to age categories and that all necessary medical information is disclosed during registration. They also confirm the child's physical fitness to participate and agree to terms regarding inherent risks associated with athletic events.
Participants are encouraged to follow instructions from event officials, volunteers, medical staff, and security personnel for a smooth and safe experience. Registration must be completed by December 10th, 2026, and is non-transferable. Parents or guardians also grant permission for their children's participation in the Pune Junior Marathon.
