About the event
The run is open and FREE to GUTS members only, join if you must! GUTS membership is available on Ultrasignup - GetGUTS Due to permit limitations this is classified as a run and it is not official PUMPKINS: Each runner must bring one pumpkin (no gourds plz!), but chose wisely, as you may end up carrying it. We will also be collecting can goods to donate to the local food bank. AWARDS: There might be pie for the winners…. CUPLESS: We are going cupless this year. PUMPKIN CARRYING: Since everyone is bringing a pumpkin, there will be plenty of lovely pumpkins available to runners for the purpose of giving the pumpkin a ride to the top of the mountain. Pumpkins are drawn at random so hopefully there are no giant pumpkins. Any runner who brings back their pumpkin, unharmed, will be given a special prize. You gotta run at least 2 loops before carrying a pumpkin for a loop AID: Aid station located at start/finish area (available once per loop). PARKING: Parking is limited, so please carpool! Course: Same as 2024 (5 loops of ~10K). Runners must start the last loop by 3:00pm. Full course and parking details to be provided to participants prior to the run

About Kennesaw

Kennesaw is a suburban city northwest of Atlanta in Cobb County, Georgia, United States, located within the greater Atlanta metropolitan area. Known from its original settlement in the 1830s until 1887 as Big Shanty, it became Kennesaw under an 1887 charter. According to the 2020 census, Kennesaw had a population of 33,036, a 10.9% increase in population over the preceding decade. Kennesaw has an important place in railroad history. During the Civil War, Kennesaw was the staging ground for the Great Locomotive Chase on April 12, 1862. Kennesaw is home to Kennesaw State University, an R2 research institution and the third-largest public university in the state of Georgia.
