About the Event

On October 11, 2026, the sun rises over Rio de Janeiro as the bustling Praça Mauá sets the stage for the return of Projeto de Braços Abertos. The day promises an inclusive atmosphere where runners and walkers alike can enjoy a scenic 5K course at their own pace. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or just starting out, there's room for everyone to participate in this vibrant community event.
For younger participants aged 1 to 14 years old, the Mini Corrida offers a special experience designed with safety and fun in mind. Families can join together for a day filled with sports, health activities, and joyful moments as they encourage children to embrace an active lifestyle.
Participants are encouraged to bring one kilogram of non-perishable food on race day as part of the solidarity initiative. This event not only promotes physical well-being but also teaches valuable lessons both inside and outside the competition arena.
The race is more than just a run; it's a celebration of community spirit, health consciousness, and family togetherness in one of Rio’s most iconic public squares.
