Join us on April 11, 2027 for the grand celebration of the Rumble's silver anniversary! This year marks an exciting milestone as we unveil three distinct distance options: the traditional 40-mile and 20-mile routes, along with a brand new Trail Marathon. The event kicks off at 7 a.m. with the start of the full marathon-distance race (40 miles), followed by the trail marathon beginning at 8 a.m., and finally the half-marathon distance (20 miles) starting an hour later at 9 a.m. Each course offers unique challenges and breathtaking scenery, making this year's Rumble particularly special. The 40-mile route features mostly rugged trails with some sections of dirt road. The first quarter is characterized by gentle uphill terrain, followed by a second quarter that descends gradually. The third quarter begins with another slight ascent before transitioning into two long, grueling uphill stretches over the next couple miles. This section tests endurance but also rewards runners with spectacular views as they near the finish line on a downhill course. The Trail Marathon follows the 40-mile route for its first 24 miles and then merges seamlessly into the final 16 miles of the half-marathon, offering participants an opportunity to experience both challenging terrain and stunning vistas. The 20-mile race is designed as a gentle uphill climb in its initial phase, followed by a gradual descent through the latter half. As runners reach the ridge line, they will be treated to panoramic views of Central Oregon’s Cascade peaks. All three courses are known for their varied landscapes, which include muddy trails and potentially snowy sections depending on weather conditions leading up to race day. The event continues its tradition of welcoming dogs alongside racers in all distance categories, adding a unique element to the experience. This year's Rumble not only celebrates two-and-a-half decades of running but also introduces an expanded format that caters to runners with diverse preferences and abilities. Whether you're tackling the full 40 miles or taking on one of the shorter distances, prepare for an unforgettable journey through some of Oregon’s most scenic terrain. Join us as we mark this significant milestone in style!
