Persistence Backyard Ultra

Join us for the sixth edition of the Persistence Backyard Ultra, Ontario's original backyard ultra race, set to take place on July 31, 2027. This unique endurance challenge invites runners from all backgrounds to test their limits and discover new personal bests in a serene setting at Eco Park in Arva.
The course consists of a compact loop measuring approximately 6.7 kilometers that must be completed twice within each hour for participants to advance further into the race. The trail, which includes crushed stone paths, grassy sections, and dirt roads, is designed to keep runners close to Race HQ, offering comfort for those tackling longer distances for the first time.
Eco Park, a private facility located just outside London at 15889 Medway Road, provides an intimate race atmosphere. The course winds around a pond before looping back to the start/finish area where participants can regroup and strategize with their crew members.
Participants will have access to limited camping spots near the start line on a first-come, first-served basis. As runners are eliminated throughout the day, they are encouraged to move further from the main race area to support remaining competitors.
The event celebrates not only athletic achievement but also community spirit and fundraising efforts for local children's health initiatives through donations collected during registration. With past winners like Sandra Auger and Amanda Nelson achieving national recognition on this course, it serves as an inspiring venue for runners aiming to push their limits in a supportive environment.
