Perogy Run 2026

Perogies. Pizza. A kid named Jayden who learned to walk. The 8th annual Perogy Run rolls into Kildonan Park, Winnipeg, on Sunday, June 14, 2026. This is a wheel/walk/run — literally for everyone, including wheelchair users, strollers, walkers, and runners. All proceeds support the Movement Centre of Manitoba, which helps kids and adults with neuromotor disabilities gain independence and confidence. Pledge, run, eat perogies, change lives.

The Cause — Movement Centre of Manitoba:

• Provides unique rehabilitation programs for people with neuromotor disabilities (cerebral palsy, spina bifida, brain injury, etc.)
• Uses Conductive Education — a holistic approach developed in Hungary that focuses on teaching problem‑solving, movement, and independence
• Supports both children and adults, from early intervention to adult life skills
• Movement Centre’s motto: “making what seems impossible, possible”

Meet Jayden — 2026 Perogy Run Ambassador:

• Born 7 weeks premature, spent 7 weeks in NICU at St. Boniface Hospital
• Diagnosed at age 1 with Spastic Diplegia Cerebral Palsy
• Began Conductive Education at Movement Centre at age 2½ — started with a walker
• Underwent Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) surgery at Montreal Children’s Hospital just before his 4th birthday
• Had to re‑learn how to use his muscles post‑surgery
• Now 6 years old — can take hundreds of independent steps. Every week he tries to “beat his record”
• His mom: “We can’t imagine where Jayden would be without The Movement Centre. It has truly changed his life.”

• Location: Kildonan Park near the north shelters, Winnipeg, MB
• Race Kit Pick‑Up: Thursday, June 11 and Friday, June 12 — 8:00 AM–4:00 PM at Movement Centre of Manitoba (1646 Henderson Highway)
• No race day kit pickup? Check event page for updates — kits subject to availability for late registrants
• Parking available at Kildonan Park (lots fill early — carpool recommended)
• Aid stations on course (water, possibly snacks)
• Portable toilets on site
• Strollers and wheelchairs welcome — fully accessible route
