PECO XC Junior League 2026-27

The PECO Junior Cross Country League offers young athletes aged 6 to 15 an exciting opportunity to participate in five cross country races throughout the season, each held around Leeds and its surrounding areas. The league is designed for children who are typically in school years 2 through 11.
For the younger racers—those aged 6 to 10 as of September 1, 2026—the race distance is approximately one mile starting at 10:00 AM. Older participants, ranging from ages 11 to 15 on the same date, will tackle a two-mile course beginning at 10:20 AM.
Parents are encouraged to ensure their children have the stamina and endurance needed for these distances; previous experience in junior parkruns can serve as an excellent gauge of readiness.
Competitors can secure entry through either season tickets or individual race registrations. A season ticket, available exclusively online before November 8th, provides access to all five races along with end-of-season relays and prize presentations for just £8. This pass eliminates the need for repeated registration throughout the year. Alternatively, participants may enter each event individually on race day at a cost of £4 per race.
It's important to note that while season tickets cannot be purchased on-site, single-race entries will still be available during registration periods on race days.
All entrants receive an embedded timing chip with their race number upon sign-up. These numbers must remain in the possession of each participant throughout the entire league period. In case a number is lost or damaged, replacements can be obtained from Race HQ for £2.50 per junior runner.
The PECO Junior Cross Country League welcomes young runners regardless of whether they are members of an affiliated running club; entrants simply need to provide their associated club’s name at the time of registration if applicable.
