PECO XC Junior League 2026-27 Race 2

The PECO Junior Cross Country League is an exciting series of five cross-country races held throughout the year around Leeds, complementing the Senior Race League. Designed specifically for young athletes aged under 16 as of September 1, 2026 (typically covering school years 2 to 11), these events offer a range of challenges tailored to different age groups.
For younger participants—those typically in school years 2 through 6—the race distance is approximately one mile. These athletes will take part at 10:00 AM on the day of each event, navigating varied terrain and showcasing their skills over this shorter but still demanding course. For older juniors aged between 11 and under 16 (typically in school years 7 through 11), a two-mile race awaits them starting at 10:20 AM. This slightly longer distance provides an additional challenge, testing endurance and determination.
Participants can secure their spot for all five races by purchasing a season ticket online before the start of the series. For just £8, this pass not only grants access to each event but also includes entry into end-of-season relays and prize presentations. Once registered, athletes will receive a race number with an embedded timing chip at the first race they attend; all subsequent races require simply showing up with their assigned number.
Those who prefer flexibility can enter individual races on the day of the event for £4 per race. However, it's important to note that season tickets cannot be bought on-site and must be purchased in advance online only.
All entrants are provided with a unique race number equipped with an embedded timing chip, which they should keep throughout the entire racing season. Should any participant lose or damage their number during one of the races, replacements can be obtained at Race HQ for £2.50 each.
