About the Event

The Paul Wawryko Memorial Run takes place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, starting at 6:00 PM CDT in Winnipeg, MB, Canada. This annual 5K event honors Dr. Paul Wawryko (passed December 2023), an avid runner who completed the Chicago Marathon three times, the Boston Marathon twice, a half Ironman in Chattanooga, and all five of his marathons with sub-3 hour finish times. Proceeds fund an annual scholarship for the Department of Pathology (where Paul won Educator of the Year) and various causes near to his heart. A post-race event will feature a beer created specifically for this event.
