Pāuanui Trail Epic 2027

About the Event

March 20, 2027 marks the Pāuanui Trail Epic, an exhilarating day of trail running that promises to showcase the stunning beauty of New Zealand’s coastal landscapes. Participants can choose from four distinct courses: the epic Ruamahua-nui covering a challenging 34km, the scenic Hongiora at 5km for those looking for a shorter adventure, and two intermediate options of 14km and 22km.
The event begins and concludes on Pāuanui Beach’s picturesque white sands, offering runners breathtaking ocean views throughout their journey. Each course is carefully designed to highlight unique features of the region, including lush forests, rolling hills, and rugged coastal paths that challenge even seasoned trail runners.
Competitors will enjoy professional timing services along with live tracking updates for supporters following from afar. On-course hydration stations fueled by Tailwind Endurance provide essential support throughout the race routes. All finishers receive a unique medal and towel to commemorate their achievement, while spot prizes add an extra layer of excitement.
Teams can also participate in the Teams Challenge, combining individual efforts into collective goals across any chosen distance. Whether solo or part of a team, runners will experience the camaraderie and spirit that defines this event as they push through challenging terrain towards rewarding views and finish line accolades.
