About the Event

Since its inception over two decades ago, the OstseeMan has become an iconic fixture on Germany's northernmost triathlon calendar. Each year in August, hundreds of athletes converge upon the shores of the Baltic Sea for one unforgettable experience: a swim through cool seawater that challenges even the most seasoned competitors with unpredictable ocean conditions.
What started as a military challenge back in 2002 has evolved into an event celebrated by triathletes from across Europe. The race offers both long and middle distances, catering to athletes of varying abilities but maintaining its reputation for pushing participants to their limits.
The long-distance course spans 180 kilometres through the hilly terrain of northern Angeln, offering a scenic journey with views that change dramatically as you progress along winding roads and picturesque landscapes. The final leg is a gruelling yet rewarding 42-kilometre run right by the water's edge, where athletes can feel the refreshing sea breeze on their faces.
But it’s not just about the challenge; the OstseeMan also boasts an incredible atmosphere that draws crowds of enthusiastic supporters to cheer along Sandwig Hill and the beach promenade. The event is renowned for its community spirit, creating a supportive environment that uplifts every participant as they push through each segment of the race.
The early morning start on August 1st, 2027, will see athletes plunge into the cool Baltic Sea at sunrise, setting off with anticipation and awe as dawn breaks over Glücksburg.
