Open Run - Volunteers

Since its inception in 2015, NYRR Open Run has become a beloved fixture in New York City's vibrant fitness community, offering weekly running and walking events across various neighborhood parks. This free program welcomes runners of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds to enjoy the outdoors and foster connections within their local communities. Led by enthusiastic volunteers, these events create an inclusive atmosphere where participants can run or walk at their own pace, whether they are seasoned athletes or just starting out. Families and casual walkers also find a warm welcome as everyone is encouraged to join in regardless of experience level. The Open Run series emphasizes health, inclusivity, and community spirit while making fitness accessible for all. Participants can look forward to enjoying the scenic beauty of New York's parks, meeting new friends, and embracing an active lifestyle together without any cost or equipment requirements.
