ON TOUR - The Cider Night Relay Team Challenge 2027
About the Event
Devon Running Events invites you to join us for an unforgettable weekend of running and camaraderie from July 23rd to 25th, 2027. The highlight is the Cider Night Relay Team Challenge on Friday evening, offering a unique opportunity to run or walk through the night in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The event kicks off with a special team challenge designed for groups of two to five participants or solo runners over the age of 21. Teams can compete in this exhilarating 24-hour relay race, where they have until midnight on Saturday morning to cover as much distance as possible around a scenic course. The relaxed pace and camaraderie make it an ideal event for all skill levels. On Friday night at 8 PM, teams will start their journey under the stars along winding paths through fields dotted with wildflowers, crops, and grassy tracks. Participants can choose to run or walk as much as they like within a 12-hour window, with opportunities to rest between laps if needed. The event concludes on Saturday morning at midnight. The course is set in a private farm setting by kind permission of the owner, providing runners with an intimate connection to nature and rural landscapes. Each lap completed earns participants rewards, including medals for all finishers regardless of distance covered. This inclusive spirit ensures that every runner feels celebrated and appreciated. In addition to the Friday night challenge, there are several other events throughout the weekend: - A 5k-ish race on Friday evening at 7 PM - A full day 12-hour run starting early Saturday morning - Another round of a 12-hour event beginning Sunday at 8 AM Sunday also features two shorter races: the Bell & Bumble Tad Longer Plod and Shorter Plod, both kicking off around 9 AM. The Apple Plod race offers a scenic 10k-ish route starting later in the morning. With limited spots available for this unique experience, early registration is strongly recommended to secure your place in what promises to be an unforgettable weekend of running through Devon's picturesque countryside.
