Oak Valley Xtreme

Immerse yourself in the untamed beauty of the Elgin Valley for the Oak Valley Xtreme Trail Run. This exclusive trail running experience offers runners access to pristine singletrack trails typically reserved for mountain bikers, featuring challenging ascents and panoramic views of the Groenland mountains. Organized by Sealand Gear and Frequent Media, this event is more than just a race; it’s an adventure with environmental impact at its core.
Participants will encounter diverse terrain, from rolling hills to steep climbs, all while contributing to important causes through partners like Seeland's Protect Our Paths Foundation, which focuses on trail maintenance and promoting sustainable practices. Upon crossing the finish line, runners receive a commemorative medal made sustainably, as well as a bottle of Oak Valley wine.
Registration for both distances—25km with 755m elevation gain (subject to change) and 15km with 430m elevation gain—is held on November 28 at the Dragonfly Tri gazebo near the rugby fields. Start times are set for 8:00 AM for the OVX25 runners, followed by a start time of 8:30 AM for those in the OVX15 category.
Don't miss this opportunity to run wild and make a difference while enjoying breathtaking scenery and an unforgettable trail running experience. For more information and updates, follow Dragonfly Tri on social media platforms like Facebook (@dragonflytri) and Instagram (@dragonflytri_za).
