NUUK FIVE PEAKS

Embark on the challenging Nuuk Five Peaks race and traverse through some of Greenland's most rugged terrain. Set against the backdrop of Nuuk’s stunning fjords and mountains, this demanding course spans 25 kilometers with approximately 2,000 meters of elevation gain. Runners will encounter a mix of rocky trails, steep climbs, and exposed ridgelines as they navigate through raw natural landscapes.
The route winds around five prominent peaks: Lille Malene (443 m), Store Malene (772 m) with its second summit at the same height, Kangilequtaat (787 m), Kuanninnguit (472 m), and Quassussuaq. Each peak offers a unique challenge and breathtaking views of Nuuk’s fjords.
A highlight of the race is running through Paradis Dalen (“Paradise Valley”), which provides a momentary respite from the technical terrain with runnable paths before returning to more rugged trails. The course requires runners to be adept at both trail running and light mountaineering, including route-finding between markers in challenging conditions.
Nuuk Five Peaks is not just a race; it’s an experience for seasoned mountain runners seeking adventure in Greenland's backcountry. Completing this loop represents the fulfillment of a renowned local challenge and offers runners a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to test their limits amidst stunning natural beauty.
Join the trail 10K up Quassussuaq if you prefer a slightly easier route with scenic views from the summit, cirkussøen, and through Paradise Valley.
