Norfolk Festival Of Running

The Norfolk Festival of Running returns for its third year at Bawsey Country Park, offering runners a scenic and flat course that winds through the park's beautiful lakeside trails. Whether you're tackling your first official race or aiming to notch another milestone on your running journey, this event offers something for everyone.
Participants can choose from several distances: 5k, 10k, Half Marathon (with an option of up to seven laps), Full Marathon, and Ultra Marathon (up to twelve laps). The park's terrain is forgiving with sandy/gravel trails that provide a fast-paced route. Each lap features stunning views around the lakeside area, making this race both picturesque and memorable.
The event starts at 9:00 AM for longer distances with a six-hour cut-off time, while those starting at 11:00 AM have four hours to complete their chosen distance. Runners can expect a well-organized course layout with an aid station available every lap, ensuring hydration and energy needs are met throughout the race.
Registration on the day involves picking up your bib number from Race HQ/Base Camp near the start line in the car park area. The event is mass-started by the Race Director, creating an energetic atmosphere as runners set off together along the flat out-and-back route that loops around Bawsey Country Park's serene lakeside paths.
A GPX file can be downloaded for detailed course information from the "course" tab on the official website. Runners are encouraged to bring their own reusable bottles or cups due to a cupless policy, which helps reduce waste and promotes sustainability at this event.
Upon crossing the finish line, all participants will receive a bespoke medal celebrating their achievement. For those unable to attend in person but still wish to take part virtually for the medal alone, entries are available through Zig Zag Running's website.
Parking is included with your registration fee; be sure to collect a parking code before arriving at Bawsey Country Park on race day.
This event promises an engaging and scenic running experience, perfect for runners of all levels looking to challenge themselves or simply enjoy the beauty of Norfolk’s countryside.
