Next Gen 5K

On March 13, 2027, the Next Gen 5K takes runners through historic Monroeville, Alabama's vibrant downtown and surrounding neighborhoods for an invigorating morning run. The race begins and ends at the iconic Monroeville Water Tower, offering a flat and fast course that winds past charming local landmarks. Participants will enjoy scenic views of well-preserved architecture as they navigate the streets lined with trees and historic storefronts.
Registration fees include a shirt and post-race refreshments such as snacks and drinks to refuel after crossing the finish line. The event features one water station along the route, ensuring runners stay hydrated throughout their run. Awards will be given out for top male and female overall winners as well as age group champions ranging from 0-14 years old up to those aged 70 and over.
The Next Gen 5K is more than just a race; it's an opportunity to support local youth and children’s ministries at Mexia Baptist Church, along with the community-based crisis pregnancy center, Alpha Women’s Resources. Runners can also participate in sponsorship opportunities that offer tax-deductible donations starting from $100 for partner level up to $1000 for gold sponsors.
Race day registration starts early at 7:00 am and costs $40, or sign up before March 2nd for a discounted rate of $35. For more information, contact Race Director Randy Breedlove via email at [email protected] or by phone at (251) 575-4398.
