New Years Grus 2027

New Year’s Gravel – The Ultimate Winter Challenge
As the year transitions from 2026 to 2027, Gårslev in Vejle invites cyclists to kickstart their New Year with an unparalleled adventure. This isn't just a fresh start; it's your chance to define what lies ahead for you on two wheels.
The event embraces the harsh winter conditions of northern Europe, presenting "New Year’s Gravel," a challenging and scenic route that tests both body and spirit. Participants can choose between two distances: 160 km – “Dare to go Xtreme” or 100 km – “Challenge Accepted.” The course weaves through gravel tracks, roads, and trails across the southern, eastern, and western parts of Vejle.
At the halfway mark, cyclists will be greeted with a hearty bowl of soup and noodles, a refreshing soda, and a moment to catch their breath before tackling the second half. Upon reaching the finish line on January 2, participants can enjoy more warm soup, coffee, and a high-five from fellow riders as they collect their well-deserved finisher sticker.
The event is self-supported with no aid stations except for the mandatory halfway break. Navigation relies on GPX files to guide cyclists through this demanding terrain. While there’s unofficial timing via PolkaDot and Strava, the real reward lies in conquering the course under your own power and setting a new standard for yourself as you ring in 2027.
Are you ready to set the bar high? Join us on January 2nd for an unforgettable journey through Vejle’s winter landscape.
