New Year's Eve Åland 2026

Join the 45th edition of Nyårsruset on December 31, 2026, for an invigorating run that marks the end of the year. The race starts at Mariebad at noon and offers two scenic routes: a 7.4km course and a slightly longer 9.5km option. Both courses wind through picturesque Åland landscapes, offering runners stunning views of the coastline and charming villages.
Participants are encouraged to support local youth sports by donating during registration; options range from €10 to €50. Early registrants have a chance to win one of three alcohol-free sparkling wine bottles in a lottery draw. Registration is free until December 29, but participants must inform [email protected] if they cannot attend.
The event promotes inclusivity and aims to provide opportunities for children and young people from all backgrounds through the "Alla Med" initiative. Funds raised go towards supporting sports training fees, equipment, and camps for youth athletes.
Runners can also register on-site starting at 11:30 AM, though late registration costs €10 or more with no upper limit. All proceeds are donated to support young athletes in the community.
After the race, runners will find restrooms available at Mariebad. For a nominal fee, participants can use changing facilities and enjoy sauna sessions before cooling off in the refreshing sea waters nearby.
