Mudskipper SwimRun - Milton and the Milton Open Water Swim and Trail Run
About the Event
Experience the Mudskipper SwimRun - Milton on August 15, 2027, an exciting addition to Canaqua Sports' lineup of multisport events. Located just half an hour west of Toronto at Area 8 Conservation Area and Kelso Park in Milton, Ontario, this event offers a unique blend of open water swimming and trail running. Participants can choose between the Mudskipper SwimRun's 10K and 20K individual courses, which challenge athletes to alternate between swimming laps around the picturesque Area 8 Quarry and navigating the rugged trails of Kelso Park. The swim portion takes place in a quarry known for its clear waters, while runners face diverse terrain that includes steep climbs and scenic overlooks. For those looking to focus solely on water-based competition, the Milton Open Water Swim offers distances of 1.5K, 3.0K, and 6K around Area 8's calm yet inviting quarry, where anticipated temperatures hover at a comfortable 20 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, trail runners can tackle either the 7.5K or 15K courses through Kelso Park’s backwoods, with the longer distance doubling up on the challenging terrain. Adding to this year’s offerings is the Milton Aquathlon, featuring a flat and fast course around Area 8 Quarry: run 2.5 kilometers, swim 1 kilometer in crystal-clear waters, then finish strong with another 2.5K run. All Mudskipper Events are now sanctioned by Triathlon Ontario, ensuring participants adhere to professional standards while enjoying the thrill of these unique multisport challenges.
