Mt Sopris Run Off

The Mt. Sopris Run-Off is scheduled for Sunday, May 17, 2026, in Carbondale, Colorado. This event has transitioned to a spring date to serve as the anchor for a larger Trail Running Festival weekend, which includes film screenings and technical gear demos. The race features a point-to-point "Up & Over" format, starting at Flying Dog Ranch in Carbondale and concluding at Rock Bottom Ranch in Basalt. The course utilizes technical singletrack with significant elevation changes characteristic of the Roaring Fork Valley.

Participants are encouraged to use the provided shuttle service, as there is no parking available at the starting line. A drop-bag service is available to transport personal items and post-race clothing to the finish line. The post-race celebration at Rock Bottom Ranch includes live music and food options. Because the finish line is located on a sensitive environmental site, the following rules are in place:

• No dogs are permitted at the finish line location.
• Runners in the 28K who do not reach the aid station cutoff will be diverted to the 10-mile finish.
• All participants must use the provided shuttles for transportation between Carbondale and the race start/finish.

The event operates under a special permit from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) as it traverses public lands. The weekend's festivities begin on Saturday, May 16, with the Trail Running Film Festival, offering a selection of new films for the 2026 season.
