About the Event

The Thankful Hat 5K, organized by the dedicated team at Berkshire Community College, invites runners of all ages and abilities to lace up their shoes for an inspiring race through Pittsfield's scenic landscapes. This annual event not only celebrates community spirit but also supports local food pantries and fuel assistance funds.
Registration opens with early bird rates starting at $30 until November 11th; fees increase incrementally, reaching $40 on the day of the race for those who haven't yet signed up online. Berkshire County students from K-12 are welcome to participate free of charge but won’t receive a hat unless they register with payment.
The first 600 runners to sign up will be rewarded with distinctive Thankful Hats, adding a festive touch to this community-driven event that consistently sells out each year. Participants can also create their own fundraising pages online and aim for special incentives: raise $250 and receive a pair of unique Thankful Gloves; hit the impressive milestone of $1000 in donations, and you'll be gifted with an exclusive MountainOne Thankful 5K jacket.
On race day, November 26th, all runners are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items or cash contributions for local pantries ahead of time at Berkshire Running Center. Alternatively, these can be dropped off directly on the morning of the event before the start line. The proceeds from this year's event will go towards supporting those in need within the community.
Post-race activities include a raffle with prizes to be announced and distributed via email after the race concludes; winners do not have to attend the draw ceremony to claim their rewards.
