Immerse yourself in the scenic beauty of Lossie Forest for an exciting orienteering challenge on Saturday, 24 September 2026. This local event is designed to hone your skills and prepare you for the Scottish Score Championships taking place just a week later at Culbin. Lossie Forest offers terrain that closely mirrors that of Culbin, making it an ideal training ground for competitors looking to refine their orienteering techniques in advance of the championship. The forest's diverse landscape provides ample opportunity for participants to practice map reading and navigation under challenging conditions. Two score courses will be available on race day: a 60-minute course with Technical Difficulty level 5, suitable for experienced orienteers who thrive on complex terrain; and a more accessible 40-minute course at Technical Difficulty level 3, ideal for those looking to build confidence before the main event. Additionally, there is a beginner-friendly yellow course designed specifically for newcomers. Entries can be submitted online until midnight on Thursday, 17 September 2026. Limited 'cashless' entries will also be available on race day, but these are subject to map availability and come with an additional £1 fee. For full details about the event schedule, entry fees, and other important information, visit: Lossie Forest - Local Score Event - MOR | Moravian Orienteers.

About Lossiemouth
Learn more about the host city, Lossiemouth.
Lossiemouth is a village on the coast of Moray in North East Scotland, with a population in 2016 of 7870. It developed as a fishing port in the 18th and 19th centuries, but the harbour is small and that industry has gone. Its main business now is as a service town for RAF Lossiemouth, the base for Britain's Quick Reaction Alert Interceptors.
