About the Event

Run through the heart of Peak District history on the traffic-free Monsal Trail March Half Marathon & 10k Weekend in Bakewell on Saturday, 28 and Sunday, 29 March 2026. This unique two-day event offers the choice of a classic 21.1km or an accessible 10km on consecutive days, allowing you to run one day or tackle the ultimate weekend double. The course, set on a former Midland Railway line, is an undulating, multi-terrain adventure featuring the spectacular Monsal Viaduct and passing through four atmospheric tunnels, all surrounded by the stunning limestone dales scenery of the National Park. Organized by Nice Work, the event is perfect for spring marathon training or a scenic personal challenge, with a friendly atmosphere welcoming all abilities. Starting from the historic Bakewell Station at 10:00 AM each day, runners receive a bespoke medal and free professional photographs. With convenient parking at nearby Hassop Station (which also offers a great café for spectators), it's a brilliantly organized weekend escape into one of England's most iconic landscapes.
