Miles For Merritt

Join the community at Lowe’s Park on November 21, 2026, for the Run for Merritt: A 5K fundraiser dedicated to supporting young Merritt and her family as they battle childhood cancer. This heartfelt race is more than a run; it's an opportunity to come together in solidarity and offer hope, encouragement, and tangible support during this challenging journey.
Merritt was diagnosed with a rare form of childhood cancer on August 14th, facing over 60 weeks of weekly chemotherapy infusions along with two rounds of radiation. Her first round begins in December and will include 33 treatments, followed by another set for the summer of 2027.
The event at Lowe’s Park invites runners of all levels to participate—competitive athletes, middle or high school cross-country teams, casual walkers, and anyone who wants to make a difference. The day kicks off with walk-throughs and race bib pickup starting at 7:30 AM, followed by an opening ceremony at 9:00 AM before the 5K race start at 9:30 AM.
Pre-registered participants will receive additional event information via email, so ensure you provide a valid address when signing up. Individual registration costs $25 per runner, and middle school or high school teams of five or more runners can register for $100. Event T-shirts are also available to purchase as another way to show your support.
Lowe’s Park will be filled with community spirit on race day, celebrating every mile run in Merritt's honor. Join us to lace up and make a difference—one step at a time—for Merritt and her family.
