Metro Aberdeen Proms 3K Winter Series December

The Promenade 3K Winter Series, presented by Metro Aberdeen Running Club, is set to light up The Beach Esplanade in Aberdeen from October through March. This exciting winter running series takes place on the first Friday of each month during these chilly months, offering runners a unique opportunity to experience the beauty and atmosphere of the coastal promenade under different seasonal lights.
Scheduled race dates for 2026/27 are set for October 2nd, November 6th, December 4th, January 8th, February 5th, and March 5th. Each event kicks off at precisely 1:00 PM, providing participants with a consistent starting time to ensure smooth race operations.
Registration is essential as there will be no on-site entries accepted for any of the races in this series. The entry fee stands at £3 per individual race, encouraging runners to register early and secure their spots online before each event. Participants are required to maintain the same number throughout all six events, fostering a sense of continuity among competitors.
Race numbers can only be collected on the day of the event itself, so make sure you arrive prepared for your registration at 150 metres north of Beach Leisure Centre along the promenade. It's important that each runner reports to the registration desk before starting their race to confirm participation and collect necessary materials or updates from organizers.
The Promenade 3K Winter Series is not just about individual races; it also features an overall series competition where accumulated times across three chosen events will count towards winning prizes in various categories. This format allows runners of all abilities to engage with the event throughout the winter season, whether they are aiming for personal bests or simply enjoying a social running experience.
For those who signed up but can't make it on race day and wish to pass their spot along to another runner, contact information is provided to facilitate such changes. A substitute must provide full details of themselves when making this request via email to the race director at [email protected].
Metro Aberdeen Running Club welcomes all levels of runners with open arms for these winter runs. The series promises an engaging atmosphere amidst stunning coastal scenery and a supportive community environment, perfect for both seasoned athletes looking for challenging terrain and casual joggers seeking enjoyable outings in Aberdeenshire’s scenic promenade setting.
