Massapequa Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk 2026

On the crisp morning of Saturday, November 26, 2026, runners gather at Veterans Memorial Park in Massapequa to participate in the annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot. This beloved community tradition offers both a fun run and a competitive 5K race for participants of all ages.
The event kicks off with an informal family-friendly fun run starting promptly at 8:30 AM, allowing families and young children to enjoy a leisurely jog or walk through scenic neighborhoods adorned with autumn foliage. Shortly after the fun run concludes, serious runners will take their mark as the official 5K race begins at 9:15 AM.
The route for both events features flat terrain that winds its way past charming residential streets lined with colorful fall decorations and local businesses eager to welcome participants. Runners can expect a comfortable early morning temperature, perfect for outdoor activity without the chill of winter yet to arrive. The course is well-marked and clearly guided by volunteers who ensure everyone stays on track.
Post-race festivities include refreshments such as hot cider and snacks at the finish line area within Veterans Memorial Park. Participants will also have access to awards ceremonies recognizing top male, female, and age group winners in addition to a special prize for the first-place turkey trot team costume contest entry.
This event celebrates community spirit while providing an excellent opportunity for runners of all abilities to enjoy physical activity during one of autumn’s most picturesque times of year. Whether you're looking for a casual stroll with your family or aiming to set personal bests, there's something here that caters to every runner's needs and desires.
The Massapequa Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot welcomes both locals and visitors alike to experience the warmth and camaraderie this holiday season offers through athletics. Join us on November 26th for a memorable morning of exercise, fun, and community engagement!
