About the Event

The La Mezza Maratona Alzheimer - VIII Memorial Azeglio Vicini is an officially sanctioned FIDAL race that takes place on September 12, 2027. This flat and linear course offers runners the opportunity to experience a fast-paced event through scenic routes in Cesena and Cesenatico.
The race begins at Piazza del Popolo in Cesena, one of the city's central squares. Participants will run along historic streets within the heart of Cesena before heading towards Orogel Stadium Dino Manuzzi. From there, the route follows a picturesque bike path alongside the river, winding through Romagna countryside and connecting to Cesenatico via the newly established Ciclovia del Pisciatello.
As runners approach Cesenatico, they will pass under its iconic skyscraper on their way towards the finish line at Parco di Levante. The final kilometers take racers past charming seaside gardens before crossing the finish line in a celebratory atmosphere.
Two notable points along this route are marked with special recognitions: after two kilometers from the start, runners will pass through Rotonda dello Stadio "Azeglio Vicini," and later under Cesenatico's skyscraper near Piazza Costa. Both checkpoints offer additional prizes for those who reach them first.
By participating in this event, each runner contributes a 50% donation to the Fondazione Maratona Alzheimer, supporting initiatives aimed at promoting rights, care, prevention, and scientific research related to Alzheimer’s disease.
